  • Add our web address (www.randomnoteproject.com) to your paper scraps. This way, you can check our social media and website to see when someone finds your note.

  • Write your message.

Having trouble thinking of what to write?

  • Write something that has helped you in a hard time.

  • Write something that you need to hear right now.

  • Check Instagram or Pinterest for positive quotes.

 

Then, scatter your notes

  • Explore your town and find fun places where you can leave notes.

  • Use painter’s tape to prevent damage to surfaces.

  • Follow the rules of Leave No Trace. Do not leave notes in National Parks, conservation areas, or businesses without permission.

  • Try to place your notes at random and without telling anyone.

  • Invite your family, friends, classmates, or coworkers.

  • Have fun!
